Gilman Corporation manufactures ionomer foam products under the brand name Softlite®, including US Coast Guard navigational buoys, ship and dock fenders, mooring floats, booms and barriers, seat pads and skier awareness products, chemical seals and wiper tips for tank farm floating roofs, and custom laminated and standard rolls and sheets. The company uses extrusion and fabrication processes to produce ionomer foam, a low-density material supplied by DuPont as Surlyn® and by Chemigon as Ioloy®.
